Figuring Life Out

When we enter this world we cry and scream because we’re confused as to why we were woken up from the sweet slumber we had in our mothers belly and separated from her and we don’t find peace until we’re back into her safe warm arms. At this point we don’t even know why we cry, but we do anyway, we don’t know what a mother is and who she is to us but we know that we need her and she is the key to solving our problems.
As we grow up, we go through the motions of living and go about building our lives, all the while trying to fit in, trying to be liked, have someone care about us be proud of us, we go through it all still as confused as we were the day we were born but we think we have a clear idea in our head and that we do what we are meant to do.
Life goes on and we try to take it all in as we get bombarded with happenings all around us. We grow up, we grow older we get responsible and we bring new life into this world. We do all that we’re meant to do, sometimes we go wrong and make mistakes and sometimes we learn from those mistakes and sometimes we don’t, but we live life like its meant to be. We get happy, we get sad, we get angry, feel betrayed, learn accomplishment and disappointments but every once a while we sit and take a deep breath and pause. We pause because we don’t know why we do what we do. Why we are this way and what would happen if we were born a little smarter, a little different, brought up elsewhere and if we had different interest, friends etc.
Life is like that sometimes. We think we know it all, that we’ve got it all figured out and then life decides to throw us a curve ball or push us to our limits or test us or try to break us. We learn what we’re made up of then, who we really are an how strong we are. Life is like a teacher it teaches you things in different ways; sometimes with time and patience, and sometimes without reason and with brutality. It molds us into who we are and shapes us into what we’re going to be.
I guess what I’m really trying to say is that it’s okay to be dazed and it’s understandable if you’re confused. It may be hard but everyday you learn something more, you may not even know you’re learning it. But what’s important is that you are here and you mean something in this world. Its all one could really ask for in the end. Life is confusing and it’s up to us to figure it out because it is us who know our lives and what we’ve been through to get where we are today. It may be hard and it may be the worst thing you can ever imagine but it’s yours and it’s up to you to go on and do something about it.
Life has so much to offer and all it’s asking for is a chance to show you what it has and a chance for you to understand the power you have within yourself and how to go about using it. It may be asking for too much, but people usually do their best when they fight for a cause, something close to them like their right to live their life the way they want it. So I’m glad I’m dazed and confused all the time because it means that I’m actually trying to figure life out, trying to be better at being ME.
