Everybody wants to be saved, they need heroes, and I don’t mean the Caped crusader kind, but that wouldn’t be half bad! What I mean is someone to count on, and someone who is there for you, when you feel like you can’t take it anymore. Someone to be there when you need, someone to lean on, see through the façade you put up in front of the world. Someone to help take your mind off your everyday life, because face it everyone has their troubles.

People have secrets, thoughts, pasts that they’d rather not think about, things they’ve done, or lives they’ve left behind, things that they don’t even permit themselves to think about, that they keep locked away in some deep dark corner of their mind, but when these dreary thoughts come to mind uncontrollably they have the ability to break people down and leave them helpless. They tend to hinder people, their rational thoughts and take them to a very dark place.

No one knows what goes on in our minds but the mind can be a dangerous place and yet it can be also be a place of peace and happiness but it is during these dark spells that we need a savior to help pull us out of it. This is when you need something strong to heal your soul from the things it has to deal with alone. Something that makes us see the light and all the good things we’ve had in our lives that have gone unnoticed for some reason or the other. When things seem worst is when we need to reach out and seek help and guidance. Keeping it bottled up not only hurts us but closes us off towards those who try to offer help.

Not all help comes as a knight in shining armor. That’s just a fantasy that we’re made to believe. Sometimes we have a savior right there waiting for us to just notice that they’ve been there from the beginning but all we had to do was look. There are a few who are lucky to have that but for the rest, it’s not the same. Saviors come in all type of forms, sometimes as a partner, sometimes a family member, friend and sometimes even a stranger; someone to whom you mean nothing. Sometimes it doesn’t even have to be a person; even things like religion, music, books, a pet, and especially the love for something can save us.

A time will come we need to step up and take control of our lives and save ourselves because we know what WE need better than anyone ever would. We need to save ourselves from the torture we endure due to the craziness surrounding us.

Sometimes, people need a break from the constant routines that they face every day and all it takes is a little comment or a smile or even a thought to make you smile wider and make the world a better place. A few simple words can brighten someone’s’ life as well as our own.

Depression, sadness, pain and hurt are emotions just like happiness, excitement and bliss. They should be allowed because they are normal human feelings. Suppressing them doesn’t make them go away, it just makes them come out stronger than before. We have to deal with them as we deal with the rest. The more we realize that they are part of us and just accept them, their pressure on us decreases.

Yes, we all want to be saved and everyone wants someone to lend a hand to them so look around there might be someone out there who needs saving just as much you. And sometimes, saving someone can be just as rewarding and in turn saves us instead.

People are different and in their thoughts, ways and their lives so ultimately it is up to them what they make of their lives whether or not they try to move past their obstacles or keep waiting to be saved and not step up and do it themselves.

Dedicated to all my friends and family who are going through tough times in their life.
